Export your Transaction data in CSV
To download and export your transactions, log into your account and navigate to the Transactions tab.
Here, you can adjust filters on the right and select the option to export your transaction data. Once you click on Transactions, a link to your export will arrive in your inbox within 10 minutes.
Reconcile your Statement with your transaction export
When reconciling your transaction export with your monthly statement, it's important to be aware of a few key factors that can cause discrepancies:
1. Time Zone Differences:
- The filter in the dashboard is based on the customer's local time, while the CSV export and PDF cash statements are based on UTC time, the filter might miss some transactions depending on your location.
⇒ To address this, we advise setting your filter to include a few buffer days. For example, if you need all June transactions, set the filter from May 27th to July 3rd.
2. Transaction Dates:
- Since the CSV export includes all transactions (both pending and settled) based on their created date, it can cause discrepancies because the created date indicates when the transaction was initiated, but does not necessarily indicate that the transaction has been settled.
⇒ We recommend removing all pending transactions from your CSV and then filtering the posted date to show only transactions that settled within your desired period (for example, June transactions to match the June cash statement).
3. Settled Transactions:
- The PDF cash statement includes only settled (posted) transactions, which can result in discrepancies if you set a filter from June 1st to June 30th, as some transactions created in May but settled in June won't show.
⇒ To mitigate this, ensure your CSV export includes transactions created in the buffer period as suggested above, and then filter the posted date to reconcile the transactions accurately.
4. Currency
- The currency in which transactions are made can also impact reconciliation.
⇒ When preparing your CSV export, filter the currency column to display transactions in the specific currency used for your monthly statement.
The CSV download feature was originally designed for financial and data analysis, not specifically for reconciliation. However, we understand that reconciliation is a major use case for our customers and are working towards making this easier.
